Cusco
was the capital of the past Inca Empire. Our streets are
lined with Inca built stone walls, often steep and
narrow. Many people here still speak Quechua and are
direct descendants of the Incas. Cusco is a central hub
for travelers in South America. The main square (Plaza
de Armas), just a few blocks from our school, is a
lively place with street vendors, restaurants and
historic churches.
Cusco
is the starting point for trips to the
Sacred Valley of the Incas and the jungle. Cusco is home
to the famous Inti Raymi festival in the ancient ruins of
Sacsayhuaman.
And of
course, Cusco is the starting point for the most famous hike in
South America, the Inca trail. The views and the walk of the
Inca trail can be described as unforgettable and incredible.
